Sauwald-Vodka, Martin Paminger

- All weather
The Sauwald region has long been known as the home of Sauwald potatoes. But what if this aroma could also develop in a liquid state? When Martin Paminger traveled from St. Aegidi in the Sauwald to Sweden, he found inspiration there for a "crazy idea". In 2010, Paminger presented his "Sauwald vodka" to the public for the first time. Five years and a few awards later, the "water" has firmly established itself.
Sauwald Vodka" is distilled exclusively from Sauwald potatoes of the Freya variety. The distillate achieves a high level of purity and quality thanks to the pre-treatment of the potatoes and the special mashing process. Its intense flavour means that Sauwald vodka is predominantly drunk neat - a powerful taste experience. This is also due to the fact that Martin Paminger treats his potatoes in a species-appropriate manner, right down to the glass. After all, due to the landscape of the Sauwald, they are used to being in a certain sloping position from the tuber onwards. They grow, as they say in the Sauwald, "in der G'stecken". Which in High German means something like "slope". To ensure that they continue to feel at home, Paminger also bottles them as distillate in quirky bottles, which have now become a trademark for his vodka. Of course, there is also a matching drinking glass
