Franz-Josef Tower

Linz, Oberösterreich, Österreich

A change of perspective at the highest point of Linz’s Freinberg: After climbing the steps, you’re rewarded with a magnificent view of Linz, the Danube, Urfahr, and the Pöstlingberg.

The Franz-Josef-Warte was built in 1888 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the office of Emperor Franz Josef. The plans were drawn up by Ignaz Scheck (Upper Austrian Construction Company). In 1912 a porter's apartment was added.
