Fertile landscape... Several types of landscape come together here. The Linz Basin with its alluvial forests and low terraces, the Traun-Enns-Riedelland with its undulating relief, joined from the south by the lower Enns and Steyr valleys. The Linz basin is strongly dominated by the Danube and the dense settlement area. The partly near-natural riparian forests are a particularly important habitat. To the south, the flat to undulating relief of the Traun-Enns-Riedelland with its many stream valleys stands out. The streams form meanders and are accompanied by high gallery forests. To the south-east is the Steyrtal valley, which is very dynamic, with the river bed often shifting. All landscapes are heavily used for agriculture, with arable farming dominating.
The construction of the imposing town tower of Enns was an exciting and instructive event - the Danube legend "A giant builder" tells the story of how this took place.
