The parish church is dedicated to St Othmar as its patron saint.
In the years 1400 - 1407, the wealthy knight Gundacker von Tannberg had today's (large) parish church built in the Gothic style, including the church tower. At the end of the 13th century, the "small church" is incorporated into the new building as a side aisle. On 24 April 1407 (St. George's Day), the new church is consecrated by the Bishop of Passau to St. Othmar as patron saint.
