Botanical Gardens Linz

The Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens in Europe and features about 10,000 different plant species.

The plants include native flora, marsh and aquatic plants, American and Asian woody plants, insectivorous plants, and much more. What makes this garden unique is that entire groups of plants are arranged to form landscapes. The highlight of every visit is Europe’s largest cactus collection, featuring approximately 1,000 species of cacti. There is also a rose garden that traces the history of the rose, an alpine garden, and a tropical greenhouse.

Moreover, the Linz Botanical Garden brings together nature and culture. Sculptures by Austrian artists set amidst the green spaces, along with a diverse program of lectures, exhibitions, and events, make the garden a place where people and culture come together. During the summer months, concerts and readings are held on the open-air stage.
