St. Nikolaus Parish Church in Waldkirchen/W.

The parish church of St Nicholas is situated on a hillside on the north-eastern edge of the village and is a late Gothic building. The single-nave nave has a ribbed vault and is divided into five bays by wall pillars. To the east is the presbytery, separated by a chancel arch. In addition to the baroque interior, neo-Gothic elements and more recent works can be found.

1325 first mention of the "Pfarr gen. Wesen".
1518 Extension of the parish church (already called Waldkirchen)
and first mention of a priest Johann Gschwendner.
1906 Enlargement of the parish church and construction of a neo-Gothic tower
(40 m).
DESCRIPTION:
- Gothic building with a single-nave, five-bay, net-ribbed vaulted nave.

- High altar, side altars and pulpit from the middle of the 18th century.
- High altar painting (St Nicholas) by Paul Steiner (3rd quarter of the
18th century).
- Gothic baptismal font in the area of the high altar.
- Heraldic gravestones from the 15th and 16th centuries.
