A Warm Welcome to the Upper Austrian Hunting Museum!

Museum - Architecture - History
This fine museum, located in the former Hunting Lodge of the Monastery of St. Florian, houses one of the best collections of antique hunting equipment in the world. A rich variety of items presents a panorama of hunting techniques and the different aspects of hunting law spanning four centuries. Case upon case of beautifully engraved firearms, crossbows, paintings, tools and equipment await your eyes.
Pride of place is given to an exquisite collection of hunting porcelain and the rich hunting collection of Baron of Bistram (1580-1804).

This former Hunting Castle is the only secular building of Austria´s famous baroque master builder Jakob Prandtauer (1722-1732).

Today, the place houses historic hunting equipment, artifacts, memorabilia and art objects, many of it fishing related as well.
