The Pyrawang branch church, beautifully situated directly on the Danube, is a St Peter's church and indicates that it was built at an early date. During interior restoration work in 1982, the remains of a High Gothic mural painting were discovered and uncovered in the chancel and on both sides of the nave. This makes the church in Pyrawang one of the few buildings in Upper Austria with preserved 14th century wall paintings.
