Insel Wörth
St. Nikola an der Donau, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The Wörther Cross was erected in gratitude to a count who survived the passage through the Struden. Regulation work on the Danube in the dangerous Struden section began in 1777 and was completed in 1895. Until the construction of the Ybbs-Persenbeug power station in 1957, however, this section remained dangerous at low water.
