The landscape of the Mühlviertel Granite Region offers an almost perfect setting for cross-country skiing. The rolling terrain regularly opens up to reveal breathtaking views. The eye is treated to white ridges stretching toward the horizon, where the Alps rise in the distance to the south. As soon as Frau Holle gives her pillows a good shake and snow conditions permit, excellent trails are groomed for both skate and classic-style cross-country skiers. On varied loop trails, winter sports enthusiasts can glide gently along and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
