Short meadow hike between Naarn and Au an der Donau
Austria's largest fish ladder is located on the Danube in the district of Au in the Machland municipality of Naarn. It was built as part of the construction of the flood dam. An observation tower provides a view of the fish ladder from above and offers a panoramic view of the Machland plains. The Aulehrpfad with its starting points in Naarn and Au/Donau is also interesting and worth seeing. It leads past cultivated areas into the alluvial forest. The adventure trail shows us how important the floodplain habitat is for nature and its plant and animal inhabitants.
