In 1813, the municipality bought the Dietrich family's house and adapted it as a school building. In 1905 the school was completely rebuilt and in 1920 electric lighting was introduced. In 1949, the toilets were fitted with flushing toilets. In 1951, a school bathroom was built - four shower cubicles, a bath and a boiler room formed the newly created bathing facility. In March 1956, temperatures of - 25 degrees Celsius were measured. Central heating was installed in 1963 and parquet flooring and running water in the classrooms in 1965. In 1971, the upper primary school was closed and the children now had to travel to Grein after the 4th grade.
