After starting out with just one lorry, the company founder decided to buy another lorry and a crawler loader after two years.
Over the years, the company grew to 20 employees.
1962-1975 - the fleet was expanded by 6 bulldozers, mainly for terrain correction.
1977 - A new line of business emerged: the purchase of gravel from the Danube. During the winter months, gravel was dredged from the Danube between Engelhartszell and Aschach.
1979 - The company was transformed into Hubert Steindl GesmbH & CoKG when Edith and Johann Luger joined the company.
1980 - Long-distance transport was added to the construction site operations. Several vehicles were purchased to transport goods to and from foreign countries, including Iraq and Greece.
These loads consisted of peaches, chilli peppers and stone blocks, for example.
1985 - Johann Luger founded a second branch in Bruck an der Mur (Styria), where he and Hubert Steindl Jr. initially started with excavator work and later the number of workers grew to 11.
1989 - Edith and Johann Luger took the name Steindl.
Hubert Steindl Sr. handed over the company to them in the same year. The vehicle fleet was expanded to 7 articulated lorries for long-distance transport and the company started to transport goods over long distances with 12 tonne lorries.
- In the same year, the old garage building directly in the town was sold to the municipality of Waldkirchen and a plot of land in the municipal area was acquired at the same time.
1990 - Construction of a new company building began, which serves as the current location in Waldkirchen.
1992 - the company moved into the new building.
1999 - The senior partner, Hubert Steindl senior, passed away.
2002 - In the meantime, his successor Stefan Steindl joined the company and has a knack for excavation work. He took over the shares from senior boss Zäzilia Steindl and is now a partner.
2008 - A second company - HST BauTrans GmbH - was founded.
2014 - After Johann Steindl retired, Stefan Steindl followed in his footsteps as Managing Director.
2019 - The senior partner, Zäzilia Steindl, passed away.
2019 - since the retirement of Edith Steindl, Stefan Steindl has been Managing Director of the company.
Currently - the company consists of 15 employees (lorries & excavators
