Lukas Kienbauer began to build his gastronomic empire in March 2016 when he opened his first establishment, Lukas Restaurant, on Unterer Stadtplatz in Schärding. Just over two years later, in the summer of 2018, the chef – who has been awarded three toques from Gault&Millau – expanded his world of cuisine to include Lukas Steak on Oberer Stadtplatz. Then, in spring 2021, he was ready to throw open the doors of his Japanese-inspired bar, Lukas Izakaya. And so, in such a short time, this young Schärding native has grown his culinary cosmos to three top venues for fine dining.

Our menu reflects the best that nature and the seasons have to offer. We source our ingredients locally wherever possible, while remaining open to influences from all around the world. In our kitchen, we make use of the whole animal and every part of the plant, from root to leaf. Out of respect for the animal, the plant and the natural world.
