Our country inn is a personally run family business in the centre of Alkoven and is now in its fourth generation of family ownership. We attach great importance to seasonal dishes with regional products. Much of our produce is grown in our beautiful vegetable garden, and what we cannot harvest ourselves we obtain from long-standing quality suppliers from the Eferding basin. Our side dishes and jams are homemade and we have been awarded the AMA Gastro Seal of Quality for this quality.

Traditional home cooking, local delicacies and homemade pastries: This is what we are known for in the region. We offer our guests open and honest cuisine.

It goes without saying that we favour local products, most of which come from the surrounding area.

We pay particular attention to the origin of meat and fish.
Our cuisine does not adhere to rigid guidelines, but allows new flavours and ways of cooking to emerge.

If any restaurant deserves to be called a "traditional inn", then it is the Lehnerwirt in Alkoven. Gernot Sames is the fourth generation to run the establishment. If you include grandmother Rosi, who contributes valuable knowledge about old recipes, three generations work together here. However, the chef in the kitchen is Gernot Sames, and he has a clear signature style. Sames orients the menu to the seasonal availability of regional products. He combines ingredients experimentally, so that asparagus can sometimes be found on the plate as a dessert with creeping ice cream on the side. He is passionate about rediscovering old kitchen treasures, such as nettle spinach or fir-top honey.
