A special jewel of the Innviertel is the Lower Inn European nature reserve, which is home to more than 300 bird species.
The Lower Inn European nature reserve in Bavaria and Upper Austria stretches across 55 kilometres of river from the mouth of the Salzach to the mouth of the Rott near Neuhaus/Schärding and offers a special habitat for local flora and fauna. In addition to the countless natural beauties, animals such as dragonflies, butterflies, bats and frogs can also be experienced at close quarters.
