Description:
Not marked as a city hiking trail! Walk across the Nibelungen Bridge onto Hauptstraße and, at the corner of Reindlstraße and Hauptstraße near the “Biegung” bus stop, take bus No. 33 to the “Plesching” stop. After a few meters on Mauthausner Bundesstraße, the ascent up the Pfenningberg begins on the left. The trail (No. 50) is very well marked by the OEAV (yellow markers). As you walk along the steadily ascending road (west-facing slope), you’ll look out over the city of Linz. To the right, before the Daxleitner Inn, begin the descent on Trail No. 52. After passing through the wooded area, stay on the road for a few meters and follow the trail sign to the right into the Finstergraben. It’s a beautiful trail that has a few steeper sections here and there. Continuing along the paved Daxleitnerweg, you’ll reach Steyregg’s town square—with a view of the old Steyregg Castle. We recommend taking the Summerauerbahn back to Linz. Via the town square, Weissenwolffstraße, Linzerstraße, and Bahnhofstraße, you’ll reach the Steyregg train station.Equipment:
