Hiking trail network of the Danube region

Hiking in the Danube region means engaging with nature and discovering the various types of landscape. From the tree-covered bank slopes in Upper Danube Valley to the fertile plains in Eferdinger Basin and in Machland all the way to the craggy rock formations in the once so feared Strudengau Valley: the breathtaking natural landscape is waiting to be conquered steb-by-step, while discovering incredible panoramic views of the river from up above here and there. The trail network in the Danube region consists of the Donausteig long-distance hiking trail, 49 Donausteig-circuits into the region surrounding the Danube and numerous other regional hiking trails.
