At any time of the year, the Café-Konditorei Schörgi in the Danube town of Grein will spoil you.
Hikers, cyclists and culture vultures may come to the small town of Grein in the Strudengau for very different reasons. But there is one common destination that unites them: the Café Konditorei Schörgi. Now you might think that it is the terrace with the view of the Danube that attracts them. Of course, that too, but basically they all come for the sweet creations of master confectioner Helmut Schörgi, which give his traditional café an excellent reputation far beyond the region.Schörgi knows how to make tempting cakes and tarts as well as sinfully chocolaty chocolates, but what "der Schörgi" is famous for up and down the Danube is his refreshing ice cream specialities. Only the best fruits that grow in the Strudengau and the surrounding regions find their way into the fruity refreshments. And Helmut Schörgi is just as inventive with ice cream as he is with his other creations: The repertoire of the house includes 90 different types of ice cream, 36 of which adorn the display case during the summer months. And many a "overheated" cyclist and hiker will enjoy the ice cream to cool them down to operating temperature.
