Created in 1963 by Prof Hans Wimmer, Munich. The large basin symbolises Schärding's abundance of water, shipping, the electric current from the Inn power stations and the cold and warm water cures, but also the danger of flooding to which the town is constantly exposed.

The large basin symbolizes Schärding´s wealth of water, its navigation, the electricity derived from the Inn power plants, the warm and cold water cures but also the flood threat, the town has been repeatedly exposed to.The St Christopher's Fountain can be visited every day.
The St Christopher's Fountain is located on the Upper Town Square in front of the Silberzeile.
