A medieval escape cave that offered the inhabitants of the marketplace a temporary refuge and hiding place during raids and looting.
The earth barn can be visited as part of group tours.

Admission is € 3.00 per person for adult groups and € 2.00 per person for school groups.
Note: The visit is included in the price of € 7.00 for adult groups and € 3.00 for school groups as part of our "Steinbrecher walk" package.
There is also a combined rate for a visit to the City Museum and the Erdstall for school groups € 3.00 per person.
