Built in the first third of the 17th century, the instrument in Neuhaus Castle Chapel is one of the few largely original organs from the Peasants' War period in Upper Austria and is therefore an excellent medium for the credible reproduction of music from this period.
Elias Praxmarer performs regularly at home and abroad as a soloist and chamber music partner. His sacred and secular compositions have been performed in numerous European countries. He has received several scholarships and awards for his artistic work, including the Richard Wagner Scholarship and the Hilde Zach Composition Scholarship from the provincial capital of Innsbruck. In 2023, he won the prestigious first prize at the International Organ Composition Competition in Saarlouis. As the youngest prizewinner in the history of the competition, he prevailed among 50 participants from 19 nations. In addition to his teaching activities at the Mozarteum University, Elias Praxmarer works as a monastery organist at the Cistercian Abbey of Stams and as the director of the International Paul Hofhaimer Organ Competition in Innsbruck.Neuhaus 1, 4113 St. Martin im Mühlkreis
