The Braunberghütte is the only serviced Alpine Club hut in the Mühlviertel and is located at 902 metres near St. Oswald bei Freistadt in the municipality of Lasberg. The "western summit" of the Braunberg belongs to the municipality of St. Oswald.

The Braunberghütte is not only visited by many hikers on the Nordwaldkammweg trail and used for overnight stays, but also by many returning guests who have taken part in one of the numerous cultural events.
Every year there is a midsummer bonfire, a mountain mass, an open-air cinema (!) and singing and song evenings as well as many concerts.

Accessibility / arrival

Drive to Witzelsberg and turn right at the next fork until the tarmac road ends and follow the unpaved road up the mountain, which leads you to the Braunberghütte. Where you will also find plenty of parking spaces.
