The hotel is located in the romantic Upper Austrian Danube Valley - near the famous "Schlögener Schlinge." The location is unique - directly on the banks of the mighty Danube River - surrounded by timeless natural beauty.

A house with history
The house itself has a history of over 300 years and impresses with its simple modernity after careful complete renovation in 2007/2008 - a successful symbiosis of old and new. In the last quarter of the 13th century, the Lords of Wesen built the seat of Niederwesen at the site of today's conference hotel. The old seat was already transferred into civic ownership in the first quarter of the 16th century and was transformed into a tavern with an attached brewery. After the brewery burned down in 1892, brewmaster Alois Rosenstingl rebuilt it in its still existing architectural form.
In 1937, the property was sold to the Baumgartner Brewery from Schärding, but was closed down in 1975. Modern lemonade production continued until 1993. Only the Wesenufer clubs occasionally used the arcade courtyard for Christmas markets, concerts, summer festivals, among others…
During the years of ongoing negotiations between the brewery owner and private investors, the building substance was very much impaired.
Pro mente ultimately acquired the site including the Schlössl and the former brewery in 2007 to convert it into a seminar hotel.

We place special value on sustainability, therefore the hotel was awarded the Austrian Environmental Seal in 2018 as the first hotel in Upper Austria with the EU Ecolabel and is a Climate Alliance business. Since October 2017, there has also been an E-charging station. Thus, the hotel currently offers the only opportunity in the region to charge an electric car. We also place great importance on the conscious handling of food. We pay attention to regional purchasing and have supported the pilot project "United against waste" with our participation. Therefore, we focus on the sensible use of food throughout the hotel to help, together with our guests, support "Mother Earth" in halving avoidable food waste!
 
The modern seminar hotel was voted the most popular seminar hotel in Upper Austria in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018, and in 2019 achieved customer satisfaction of 99%, ranking among the best seminar hotels in Austria. The hotel is classified with 5 flipcharts, which underscores the top quality of this establishment.

The hotel has offered a total of 48 comfort rooms (38 double rooms, 11 single rooms) since October 2013. The romantically stylish restaurant in the former castle area, the Danube terrace with impressive views, and the picturesque courtyard complete the generous space offerings.
Our head chef & team will pamper you with specialties from Austrian cuisine, seasonal delicacies, and Mediterranean treats. Additionally, a cozy bar, a spacious foyer, and a wellness area with sauna, infrared cabin, solarium, and generous relaxation area invite you to unwind.

Vacation & Leisure
The attractive location - situated directly on the Danube Cycle Path and Donausteig - offers an extensive range of leisure activities. Numerous cycling and hiking trails (including mountain bike routes) invite you to discover nature. The boat landing is located right in front of the hotel and offers additional excursion possibilities, e.g., a trip to Passau or Linz, Engelhartszell, as well as a boat trip to the Schlögener Schlinge. Or explore the most beautiful section of the Danube by Zille.

"The Zille"
The exhibition space of the association of boatmen from the Upper Danube Valley is located in the hotel and is dedicated to boat building and the history of Zille sailing along the Danube.
