Danube World and Stiftsliköre in Engelhartszell

Engelhartszell has the first landing stage in Austrian waters - directly below the Nibelungen highway, with a variable lifting bridge and spacious bus parking area. The location enables convenient and well-organized embarkation and disembarkation. The nearby Donaumarkt invites you to linger with its historic buildings and regional gastronomy.

A striking landmark of the town is the Cistercian Engelszell Abbey with one of the most stylistically pure rococo churches in Austria. The monastery is also famous for its traditional monastery liqueurs and beers, which are produced according to monastic recipes.

Directly adjacent is the "Mini-Danube", an interactive water experience with a sensory garden - part of the "Danube World Engelhartszell". Here, the course of the Danube from its source to its mouth is vividly illustrated.

The Schütz Art Museum exhibits works from the 19th century to the present day, including Art Nouveau, Classical Modernism, Expressionism and contemporary art - embedded in an architecturally exceptional setting.

Just a few kilometers away is the late antique castle of Oberranna, also known as "STANACUM". An approximately 1700-year-old Roman fort, it is considered one of the best-preserved ancient buildings in Upper Austria. The Danube Limes, part of the former Roman border system and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021 with all its excavation sites, ran along the Danube from Regensburg to the Black Sea and was an important border line of the Roman Empire.

Only around 3 kilometers away is the "Haus am Strom" at the Jochenstein Danube power plant, an information center that provides comprehensive information on the subject of water and energy.

In Kopfing, around 14 kilometers from Engelhartszell, the "Baumkronenweg" invites you to enjoy impressive panoramic views and exciting activities. The unique themed trail leads across 17 towers connected by wooden walkways and suspension bridges and offers bunk bed tree houses and a tree hotel, among other things.

The IKUNA nature resort in Natternbach, around 20 kilometers away, is aimed specifically at families and children and offers a variety of adventure experiences with a high adventure factor.
