Mauthausen is one of the most beautiful places along the Austrian Danube! The historic townhouses, the many narrow alleys, the beautiful market square with its two imposing plane trees, and St. Nicholas Church on the hill provide the perfect setting for a stroll through the romantic town center.
Admire the many interesting sights and listen to stories from the past of the old Danube market town.
The atmospheric walking tours with the night watchman are a special experience.
The town/night watchman tours last about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Tours of the town and night watchman tours are offered year-round for private groups.
Upon request, these tours can of course also be organized as themed tours.
During the summer months, while the Ennsegg bike ferry is in operation and subject to availability, the local walking tours can also be combined with a “mini-cruise” on the Danube (approx. 15 min).

A short “drink stop” can also be scheduled and organized upon request.

Upon request, a visit to the castle museums (Pharmacy Museum and Local History Museum) at Pragstein Castle can be included in the itinerary. Additional admission fee of €5 per person, including an audio guide in German, English, Italian, and Czech.
