The Basilica of St. Lawrence is a witness to time through the centuries: First a Roman palace stood here, then an early Christian church. It was a long way to today's church building and the impressive traces of this history are still visible today.

The Gothic basilica from the 13th century is an impressive place of worship whose history stretches back 1800 years. Unique excavations and finds from Roman times and early Christianity below the basilica reveal the legacy of a history in which not only Roman governors and commanders play a role, but also St. Florian and St. Severin, who left their mark on this place.

Motorway A1, exit Enns West, roundabout first exit direction Asten/Enns, 2nd roundabout first exit, along Astner Straße to Enns. Turn left into Lauriacumstraße until you reach the basilica.
