Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

In 1895 the house was opened as a museum, which was named "Francisco Carolinum" after the father of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Today the historic building is the seat of the Landesgalerie Linz. Works by 20th century artists are exhibited here in permanent succession, with a focus on contemporary art and references to Upper Austria.

The collections of the Landesgalerie
The collection of the Landesgalerie Linz includes the world's largest collection of works by the Austrian draughtsman Alfred Kubin, as well as around 1000 paintings, sculptures and room installations. The museum also has an important collection of photographs. The Landesgalerie also houses the Upper Austrian library. Landesmuseen, which also has extensive holdings on art and cultural history.

The Landesgalerie Linz offers an extensive program for children and families. Family tours of current exhibitions are offered regularly. There are also creative workshops and a varied holiday offer.
