Between boat tradition and outdoor experience in the Danube market
The boat landing stage is centrally located right next to the Danube cycle path. Cozy guest gardens line the romantic riverside promenade. The Schopper and Fishermen's Museum is within easy walking distance 500 meters upstream. Town houses from the Middle Ages as well as facades and courtyards from the Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance periods in the colors of the rainbow delight the eye and invite you to explore. They tell of the life of the burghers, boatmen and shoppers - the master shipbuilders of the Danube region. The name "Schopper" is derived from the main activity: the "Schoppen" (stuffing) of moss into the cracks to seal the boat planks. The Schoppers mainly built the simple boat types Plätte and Zille.
The nearby Danube bridge connects the Hausruck and Mühlviertel regions, and the provincial capital Linz is around half an hour's drive away. For the adventurous, the Escape Trails Aschach offer exciting outdoor experiences to explore the surrounding area in an interactive and entertaining way.
