Aschach Boatbuilding and Fishing Museum
Since 2004, Aschach an der Donau has been home to a dual-purpose museum dedicated to the forgotten crafts of basket weaving and fishing in Upper Austria.
May 31 to July 5, 2026, Sundays and holidays
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
July 6 through August 29, Monday through Friday
10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays
10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
September 1 through October 26, Sundays and holidays
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
By car:
Coming from Ottensheim, Eferding or Passau, drive into the center of Markt Aschach, past the parish church and the town houses and reach Schopperplatz with the museum grounds on the right-hand side.
Distance from the parish church approx. 800 m.
Boat and bus:
From the boat landing stage or bus stop at the parish church, walk upstream along the Treppelweg and you will reach the museum grounds after approx. 800 m.

Families with an Upper Austrian Family Card: €3.00
Children under 6 years old: free
