Provincial Theatre Linz

Linz, Oberösterreich, Österreich

The Schauspielhaus in Linz is a stage for great acting in an impressive ambience, a varied program and outstanding acoustics.

The Schauspielhaus on the Promenade is the home of plays by the Landestheater Linz. Plays such as "Life of Galileo" by Bertold Brecht or "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare are part of the varied programme of the Linz Schauspielhaus.

The reopening in 2017 emphasised the original character of the house from the 1950s while improving the comfort and acoustics for the audience. Under the motto "Sit better, hear better, see better", the theatre now seats 500 guests.

Since 1803, the Landestheater has been a venue for drama on the Promenade. Together with the Kammerspiele and the Musiktheater im Volksgarten, the Landestheater Linz offers not only drama but also musicals, dance and opera.
