Once Upon a Time in America! Karl Markovics & Trio MARMOLATA

On Thursday, October 29, the well-known actor Karl Markovic will read texts by American and non-American authors about the land of opportunity at the Kubinsaal in Schärding.

What do Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Franz Kafka have in common with the American Declaration of Independence, Martin Luther King, and Woody Allen?
No other global relationship has shaped our recent history more than that between the Old World and the New World—between Europe and the United States.
Authors from two centuries reflect on this extremely volatile and contradictory relationship.
Music —jazz at its finest—will be provided between the readings by TRIO MARMOLATA, featuring Siegmar Brecher on bass clarinet, Valentin Schuster on drums, and Lorenz Raab on trumpet.
