Herbert Koeppel: On a trip around the world

Herbert Koeppel was never interested in photographing places where everyone had already been.

He has always skipped the places where millions of people have already clicked. Paris, Rome, Egypt - nothing had drawn him there. The mantra of frequent travelers - "You have to see this" - has always caused him a lack of understanding.

And yet, over the last seven years, he has photographed sights from Europe, North America, Australia, Asia and Africa. Without a selfie. Without posting on social media. Without missed and overbooked flights, without stopovers and layovers at crowded airports.

Those who know Herbert Koeppel and his attitude will now ask themselves: "How is that possible?"
