"Bohemia's world-class sound" (Rondo) at the Brucknerhaus! The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra under Semyon Bychkov performs two masterpieces by Rachmaninoff. The internationally acclaimed pianist Seong-Jin Cho makes his debut as soloist.
Within a very short space of time, pianist Seong-Jin Cho has played his way to the top of the international piano virtuoso scene after winning first prize at the International Chopin Competition in 2015 at the age of twenty, putting him in the same league as legends such as Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich and Krystian Zimerman - now he can be experienced in Linz for the first time! His interpretations are characterized by an almost infinite love of detail, with which Cho works out dazzlingly nuanced textures and timbres. For his debut at the Brucknerhaus, he will be performing Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto, one of the most popular romantic piano concertos of all time. He will be accompanied by an orchestra that is without question one of the best in the world: The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra is famous for its warm, dark, typically Bohemian sound, which comes into its own perfectly in the late Romantic repertoire. In the second half of the concert, the traditional Prague orchestra and chief conductor Semyon Bychkov heat things up with Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, which he himself described as "his best work" for good reason.Untere Donaulände 7, 4010 Linz
