Every tree, every animal in the forest has developed special, ingenious methods to survive in this ecosystem. Together we discover the special strategies of pine, ash, beech, woodpecker, badger and wild boar. Following these examples, we sharpen our senses and expand our abilities to survive in this fascinating habitat. We practise nest building and foraging or find out how best to camouflage ourselves.

On Tour: This tour can also be carried out in the vicinity of your school. Humans have always developed their technical possibilities based on models in nature. We practice active bionics!

To do this, we go into the forest, explore the survival strategies of plants and animals, imitate them and recognize how they benefit us. We learn how birds build their nests, how foxes build their dens and how rabbits build their hut. We make flour from the cambium, the first layer of bark, which otherwise tastes good to bark beetles. We learn about the diet of wild boar, because what boars, wild boars and young boars eat is also digestible for us. We get to know many herbs, roots and fruits of the forest.

The trees are like our silent teachers. Where do they get their water from and how do they try to defy the wind? We come into direct contact with resin and sap, heartwood and acorns. How do trees reproduce, where and when can their fruit be found? We put this knowledge to practical use again: We make candles from resin, grind coffee from acorns and cook beech leaf salad and spruce top tea. Of course, we will also taste all these delicacies. Because we are actively out and about in the forest and never lose sight of our goal: our survival in nature!

After this exciting tour, we will know how to build a small nest, defy the wind and obtain food and water.

On tour: This NATURE PLAY is also carried out by me at different locations, such as in the vicinity of your school, your kindergarten or in your local community. Individual dates can be arranged at any time. The location, meeting point and course of the tour will be clarified in a joint preliminary discussion.
