The St. John Passion is characterized by numerous short choral interludes, which heighten the drama of the narrative.
In contrast to the other gospel accounts, John focuses not only on the humanity and suffering of Jesus but also on his divinity and strength. Through recurring motifs, musical-rhetorical figures and the targeted use of interrelated keys, Bach reveals connections in the plot and creates a particularly strong empathy for the events. We therefore invite you to allow yourself to be drawn into the Passion events from Jesus' betrayal to the prospect of the resurrection during our performancePromenade 39, 4010 Linz
