Markus Poschner and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz open the great Beethoven Year 2027.
Markus Poschner and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz open the great Beethoven Year 2027 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death with the crowning finale of his symphonic oeuvre: the 9th Symphony in D minor, which is considered both the pinnacle of classical music and a door opener to Romanticism - and not just because of the revolutionary integration of choir and solo voices. In addition to the Hard Choir and the Linz Jeunesse Choir, four outstanding soloists - Susanne Bernhard, Katrin Wundsam, Sebastian Kohlhepp and Rafael Fingerlos - will take to the stage of the Great Hall in the Brucknerhaus Linz. The New Year's Concert and its repeat performance on January 2 are part of the Beethoven cycle of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and Brucknerhaus Linz, which began with the 7th Symphony as part of the Brucknerfest 2025 and will conclude on May 2, 2027 in a Sunday matinee with Symphonies Nos. 2 and 4.
