Födroas Dörnbach round

The gentle hills between Dörnbach and Appersberg invite you to hike and also to pause, because at every corner you can enjoy interesting views: on the one hand into the Mühlviertel, and on the other hand over the Alpine foothills as far as the Alps with Traunstein and Dachstein.

Starting from the parking lot, farming families show on information boards along the hiking trail, which runs across fields and meadows, what work they carry out on their farms, which crops they grow, which animals they keep, and which foods are produced from them.

The landscape is also an important habitat for a diverse animal and plant world.

At the stations (brewery, grain Brunnhab trail, Ei-Ei, from milk to cheese, pig life, from apple to juice, rapeseed, organic, potatoes) visitors can also get actively involved.

A worthwhile visit is the pilgrimage church "Maria vom guten Rat" with Austria's unique late Gothic outdoor pulpit. It was originally a forest chapel of the lords of Kürnberg. The image "Maria von Guten Rat" is a replica of the miraculous image from the Italian pilgrimage site Ganazzano.

Lovely village and playground, dining options at Gasthaus Fischer, village café, private brewery Florianibräu (open every 1st Saturday of the month, guided tours on request), cider tavern Rohrhuber (open Friday afternoons) with farm shop, also browse in the many farm shops at Schöllis organic mushroom manufactory, Passauerhof, Spießmayr with farm school, Roitner with cheese production and alpaca farm (alpaca hikes by appointment), organic farm shop Ransmayr, direct sales at other farmers in the area. Possibility to extend the hiking round with the Katzing round.
