Short description:
Pesenbach stream has created a unique natural landscape over millennia. Granite formations - such as Candle Rock, Blue Alley or Devil`s Tubs, and untouched fauna and flora let visitors refuel on natural energy. Description:
From the market square, continue to the new grammar school. There, the Bee info centre shows several short films with phases in the life of honeybees, wild bees and insects. After the village of Kobling, you`ll find the show bee hut at the forest edge. After crossing Schröckerbach stream, the trail now runs on typical Mühlviertel hills with superb views- across Eferdinger Basin all the way to the Alps. Finally, downhill into Pesenbachtal nature reserve. Continue upstream and follow the trail through the gorge-like valley. Rare granite formations, such as the Devil`s Tubs or the Blue Alley, and untouched fauna and flora make this landscape so unique. A short, steep climb leads to Candle Rock. The hiking trail once again leads to the now gentle Pesenbach stream. At the mouth of Aubach stream, the trail turns off into the forest road. After the climb you can enjoy wonderful panoramic views in the village of Reith. The starting point is already in sight.
