Description:
From Altenhof (Kindergarten) the route leads via "Verlorene Reith" (rest area) to Dreisesselstein (3 armchairs rock), continuing to Falkenstein castle ruins with the water tower. After crossing a small gully, the tour continues to a rock overhang where there is also a rest area. From there you can enjoy wonderful views of Rannariedl Castle. Through the forest to the treenail factory. From there, the route leads in direction of Ranna reservoir dam wall. Along the way, 12 fords need to be crossed. (These are sometimes flooded after heavy rain, thus good footwear is required. Having arrived at Ranna dam (dam wall), continue uphill for a short bit and then on a secured path along a water pipeline to Hofmühle. From there, make your way up to Altenhof Castle and back to the starting point again.
