Rauscherhaus

The house was built in 1695 by the then salt master Andreas Zellinger. In 1911, the house passed into the ownership of the Rauscher family and was used as a residential and commercial building.
Since 2017, the house has had a new owner who has lovingly restored it in an exemplary manner. The shop window on the ground floor, designed by the Mauthausen Heritage and Museum Association, provides information about the history of the old Danube market.
Centuries of tradition and a flair for everyday items made this business popular with customers.
Until the 1960s, the Hugo Rauscher trading company in Mauthausen was known and loved far beyond the borders of the Danube market town of Mauthausen.
