The brewery is a building steeped in history. First mentioned in a document in 1597/98, it used to belong to Starhemberg Castle as the "manorial Starhemberg brewery". The building was remodelled and adapted several times over the centuries. It was used as a beer depot until well into the second half of the 20th century. The brewery served as a warehouse for the Stiegl brewery until September 1984. The building has been owned by the municipality of Eferding since 1978. For many years, its future use was uncertain. Several project ideas were discussed until the conversion into a cultural centre and music school finally proved to be the best solution.
