Baroque Trail

A journey along the Baroque Road conveys a little of the joie de vivre of the Baroque period. Whether the former Benedictine collegiate church in Mondsee, the magnificent market square in Obernberg or the imposing Silberzeile in Schärding, the splendid town houses in Linz and Wels, the splendour of St. Florian Abbey with its Baroque imperial rooms, Bruckner organ and the pilgrimage church of Christkindl near Steyr: here we can sense the overflowing joie de vivre of the Baroque people, who enjoyed the pleasures of life to the full despite all their religiosity.
