Since 1962 the Old Palace has been housing two noticeable Museums.
The Tour of the Museum beings in the north wing of the Palace with the family history of the Starhemberg Aristocracy. Numerous memorabilia and personal items provide insights into the history of this ancient Austrian dynasty and into the development of Austria´s third oldest town.
The Guild Hall houses exhibits commemorating the urban life and the Farmer´s War. The collection´s focus is on the War against the Turks and the Defense of Vienna in 1683. Among the Museum´s most striking features is the simple table where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed "The Magic Flute". The China Hall has cupboards filled with valuable Chinese, Old Viennese and Wedgewood China.
