The Biology Center focuses on botany and zoology.
On 200 m² of exhibition space, special scientific, pedagogically prepared exhibitions are regularly shown and the natural science collections of the state are looked after. With more than 16 million objects, the Biology Centre in Linz is the largest natural history collection in the province of Upper Austria and thus occupies second place in Austria after the Natural History Museum in Vienna.
Changing exhibitions on natural science topics open "windows into science". In addition, two special exhibitions are conceived each year.
In addition to the research, exhibition and collection activities of the zoologists, botanists and geoscientists of the Biology Centre, which are internationally recognised, a wide range of biological lectures are offered within the framework of working groups.
The Ecopark of the Biology Centre offers numerous educational programmes.
