The church is dedicated to St John the Baptist. The church is built on the steeply sloping northern terrace of the Aschach. It is enclosed by a wall. There is a baroque well chapel on the south side. An earlier spring is said to have had healing powers. The church has a single nave and the main parts are late Gothic. The exterior of the church is simple, the entire church interior was decorated with late Baroque ornamentation by Mathias Dolicher in 1750 on the occasion of the extension.
