Linz Old City Detectives

What happened on the main square in the past and what is it used for today? What stood on the site of the castle? What was Johannes Kepler's profession and what reminds us of him in modern Linz? The "Linz Old Town Detectives" solve these and many other questions with the help
of their eagle eyes, their sleuths and, of course, with their brains!

The Linz Old Town Detectives move around the city centre of Linz. The route leads across the main square, through the old town, to Linz Castle and to the Landhaus, where the seat of the Upper Austrian provincial government is located.

If desired, the tour can be combined with a visit to the Landhaus or St. Mary's Cathedral.

Old Town Detectives combined with Landhaus (subject to availability)
As part of the detective activity, we visit the Landhaus, take a seat in the Landtag meeting room and do politics there. We take a look at the "Stone Hall" and discover the graffiti of students from past centuries.

Altstadt-Detektive combined with the Mariendom
The Mariendom in Linz, also called the New Cathedral, is a special feature due to its size and the beautiful stained glass windows. We visit it either right at the beginning or at the end of the detective activity. We have also prepared a detective station in the outside area of the Mariendom. Duration: 3 hours
