Experience steel production at first hand

The voestalpine Stahlwelt in Linz presents an internationally unique world of experience in which everything revolves around the material steel. Austria's largest industrial site invites you to discover the latest technologies in steel.

An Exciting World of Discovery
The voestalpine Steel World offers a glimpse behind the scenes at voestalpine. After two years of renovation, it will reopen its doors in early July 2026. The exhibition has been comprehensively modernized in terms of architecture, technology, and content. Open spaces, new sightlines, and digital presentations offer fresh perspectives on voestalpine.
During engaging guided tours, the guides share background knowledge about steel, its production, processing, and diverse applications. Visitors learn how car bodies are made, what the secret is behind seemingly ordinary razor blades, and how high-speed rails can be up to 120 meters long.

Factory Tour
After the guided tour, visitors board multimedia buses to explore the over 5 km² voestalpine factory grounds, getting up close to the most modern facilities in the steel industry. This allows visitors to experience the production facilities firsthand at the blast furnace, in the hot rolling mill, or at Automotive Components.
The factory tour is only available as part of a guided tour.

Group tours will resume on July 13, 2026, and are available for groups of 15 or more from Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
