Experience steel production at first hand

The voestalpine Stahlwelt in Linz presents an internationally unique world of experience in which everything revolves around the material steel. Austria's largest industrial site invites you to discover the latest technologies in steel.

Exciting world of experience
The voestalpine Stahlwelt offers a look behind the scenes of voestalpine. In exciting guided tours, the guides impart background knowledge about steel, its production, processing and the many possible applications. Visitors learn how car bodies are made, the secret behind banal-looking razor blades and how high-speed rails can be up to 120 m long.

Factory tour
After the guided tour, multimedia buses take visitors on a tour of the voestalpine factory premises, which cover an area of more than 5 km², close to the most modern facilities known to the world of steel. Visitors can experience the production facilities at the blast furnace, the hot rolling mill or Automotive Components at first hand. The plant tour can only be taken as part of a guided tour. 

Extraordinary architecture
The architecture of voestalpine Stahlwelt is also worth seeing. The building is reminiscent of a periscope and offers a unique view of the voestalpine plant premises. On five levels, the architecture inside surprises with the alternation of different spatial impressions and opens up the diverse world of experience.

Stahlwelt Lounge
The Stahlwelt Lounge on the ground floor provides refreshments. Here visitors can enjoy drinks and small snacks after the tour.

Group tours are available for groups of 15 or more. Possible from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs.

The exhibition world of voestalpine Stahlwelt will be rebuilt from July 2024. The clear aim is to be able to offer our visitors an attractive range of activities even during the construction work. We are currently working on a detailed plan for this, which we will then communicate as soon as possible.
