The foundation of the Augustinian canons' monastery is based on the deed of foundation dated May 16, 1147, in which Count Otto von Machland and his wife Jeutta von Peilstein donated parts of his extensive possessions in today's municipal area to the Säbnich monastery (high above the Danube near Sarmingstein).
Interesting guided tours of the Waldhausen collegiate church, the crypt and the Waldhausen parish church are offered. Can be booked individually or collectively as required.
