Hikes in Linz, Kirchschlag and Ansfelden

Tours in Linz

• Linz West Center: Starting from Linz’s Main Square, the route leads to the castle, up the Freinberg to St. Mary’s Cathedral, and back to the Main Square. You’ll be rewarded with views of Linz and the Danube Valley. Length: approx. 5 km, approx. 180 meters of elevation gain, duration: approx. 2.5 hours
  
  
• The Quiet Sides of Linz: This varied tour starts on the Freinberg and leads past the stupa (Buddhist monument) and the soccer stadium, through the Botanical Garden, and into the city center. Length: approx. 5.5 km, almost no elevation gain, duration: approx. 2.5–3 hours
  
  
• Linz from Top to Bottom: Take the Pöstlingbergbahn up Linz’s local mountain, enjoy a walk with views of the city and the Danube, then walk through the zoo, past the Anton Bruckner Private University, and along the Alt-Urfahr Danube beach to the main square. Length: approx. 6 km, no elevation gain, duration: 2.5 hours; route changes are possible (depending on the season).
  
  
• Lively, Livable Linz: Through the green Urfahr district—from Heilhamer Park over the Gründberg to St. Magdalena. Length: approx. 5.5 km, approx. 130 meters of elevation gain, duration: approx. 2.5 hours
  
  
• Trade Route, Knowledge Trail, Recreation Area. The walk follows the former horse-drawn railway line through the university campus to Lake Pleschinger. Length: approx. 7 km, almost no elevation gain, duration: approx. 2.5 hours
  
  
• Linz is green! A primeval forest in a major city with several lakes. Start at Solar City in southern Linz. The route takes you to the small and large Weikerlsees, through the Traun-Danube floodplains to Lake Pichling. Well worth experiencing! Length: 7 km, flat terrain, duration approx. 2.5–3 hours

Tours in Kirchschlag

• Scenic views and sweeping vistas! From Kirchschlag near Linz, the route goes via the Gisela Warte to Lichtenberg. Length: approx. 7 km, approx. 80 meters of elevation gain, duration: 3.5 hours
  
  
• Across Kirchschlag. Beautiful views guaranteed. Nature, relaxation, and more. And of course, a castle is a must-see. Length: approx. 8 km, approx. 150 meters of elevation gain, duration: approx. 4 hours

Hikes in Ansfelden

• Close to the city with a rural charm! Hike toward Lake Pichling with a view of the city of Linz. The hike starts in the center of Ansfelden. Length: approx. 10 km, gentle ascent, duration: 3.5–4 hours
  
  
• Ansfelden, Bruckner, St. Florian Abbey! Follow the Symphony Hiking Trail from Anton Bruckner’s birthplace to his final resting place. Musical surprises included. Length: approx. 9 km, gentle ascent, duration: approx. 3.5–4 hours
